Good afternoon, not very often you hear me say that is it, well not unless I’m doing my predictions on a Friday afternoon before a Soccer Saturday Super 6. This is another midweek one though and the first time I believe that the UEFA Champions League games have been involved. Should be fun and I’m so glad to have European football back on the TV too, I shall be watching it tonight.
As for last Saturday’s predictions went well, with my best Super 6 prediction game score for a couple of weeks and I’m starting to get a few more five point scores as well. I think quite a lot of people got good scores as they were some obvious results out there so it was all about getting the actual score bang on. Manchester United, Brighton and Stoke were all home wins but I just missed out on getting it correct by the odd goal again. Most please with my two draw predictions though, Middlesbrough vs Everton and West Ham vs West Brom, although that only came in with seconds to spare in their game. As for Southampton beating Sunderland 4-0 away from home.
Here we go then, predicting Champions League games, it may only be two games, but the fact that neither of those games involves an English team is even more surprising. There are some big names involved, starting with Benfica vs Dortmund. The Portuguese side are not the force they once were but they’re still very tough opposition at home in Europe and their own domestic league. I can’t see them getting beat but Dortmund do have a tendency to score in most games so I’m going for a draw. As for PSG vs Barca, well I know I’m going to regret this as I think PSG will get a draw and possibly a win, however stupidly I’m going to say a Barcelona win as I know people in my private league will be predicting the same and if I’m wrong I do not want to lose ground.
The Championship games should really all be hope wins, well except the big one between Norwich and Newcastle. We all know that a ‘should be’ home win doesn’t always come true so I’ve mixed it up a bit and below are my guesses for tonight’s games then. If you’re not watching your own team then I’d highly recommend one of the Champions League games as there will be some good quality football played in both ties. Enjoy your evening!
