Good afternoon! Oscar here again, well it’s the final tonight between the hosts France and Portugal. Although the majority had Germany as slight favourites against France, I still believed France would win against them last Thursday and I at least got that prediction correct. They fully deserved it as well and Antoine Griezmann’s two goals (his 5th and 6th of the tournament) were the main difference.
On to tonight, what another great game this could be! Although France are big favourites to win of course and not just because they’re the hosts. Facts don’t lie. France have won five and drawn one of their six games. The draw as well was only after they’d qualified for the Round of 16. They’ve not gone to extra-time yet and have scored 13 goals in total. They should be fresh and raring to go with the home fans behind them.
Portugal on the other hand didn’t win any of their groups games, drawing all three. They’ve been to extra-time twice and penalties ones and so have only won one game inside of 90 minutes. That win was the semi-final against Wales. Like France though they can score goals and not just from Ronaldo. They have eight so far but might not be as fresh.
Is Both France nor Portugal have any suspensions but Pepe may still be a doubt for Portugal once again. Therefor both managers only have headaches in which starting elevens to go with.
Anyway, is this Ronaldo’s time? I’d like it to be. I can see both teams scoring for sure, but I believe one team may just have just too much for the other. My prediction for the final tonight is below. Enjoy the game!!
France v Portugal kicks off at 8pm (UK Time) from The Stade de France stadium in Paris.
