My diary of watching ALL of Euro 2016 (Day 10)

Hello, my name is Ian and I’m going to be bringing you a brief blog each day of my match day goings on of trying to watch every Euro 2016 game. Day 10.

France and Switzerland finished first and second in Group A last night then, but an historic day for Albania. Not only did Sadiku head in Albania’s first ever major tournament goal to obviously give them their first ever major tournament win. They also beat Romania for the first time in 68 years. The singing, partying and of course the car horns would of been loud and ongoing into the early hours last night I imagine. My window cleaner is Albania but isn’t into football apparently, I’m sure he would of been watching last night though. He’s due to come around today so I’m sure he’ll be even more cheerful than normal.

Switzerland celebrate in front of their fans

Albania now have to wait a few days to see if they get through to the next round, you think being on 3 points would give them a chance, however with negative goal difference it could be tricky, still a chance though.

I have since watched their game this morning having chosen to watch France v Switzerland last night instead. My brother said he’d be watching the Albania game, I do wish I had of now as the France game was always going to be a boring 0-0 thinking about it. Anyway both games watched so I’m still up to date, despite having to watch one knowing the score already. Nowt you can really do though as this stage of the competition.

Not much else to report really from yesterday – I’d recovered from seeing the Stone Roses around lunchtime and then went to see my Dad and our family for Father’s Day. Too wet to do anything else yesterday so it was an afternoon with the kids before getting them to bed before the football came on. My eldest was told he had to be in bed before the football started last night if he wanted to watch England tonight. It worked.

I was confident of another England win tonight but having since heard there might be up to six changes for tonight’s game, I could possibly see a draw. Nah, go on – I have confidence in Roy and the young lads so will still go for another win and 2-0 England!
