My diary of watching ALL of Euro 2016 (Day 8)

Hello, my name is Ian and I’m going to be bringing you a brief blog each day of my match day goings on of trying to watch every Euro 2016 game. Day 8.

Having spent most of yesterday being tired and recovering from the pub excusion of day 7 of watching England v Wales and the other two games. Today is going to be on so different. Thankfully no beer was drank last night and now I’m ready for my busiest day of trying to watch all the games of Euro 2016. Today I think I might just fail.

My kids coaching this morning has been cancelled, however the only reason it has been cancelled is because I’m taking a team to a tournament this afternoon. Yes, this afternoon. I was convinced up until last week it was this morning. Yes, I’ll get to watch Australia v England in the rugby but the Belgium v Ireland game is already a write off due to the fact that once I’ve finished the football tournament I’m off to see the mighty Stone Roses play at the Etihad tonight. Which means Portugal v Iceland is a write off too. I shall see Iceland v Hungary though.

Before all that, yesterday’s game. Not much to report from me myself. I watched all three games quietly and peacefully on my couch in the front room yesterday with a few cups of tea and some nice food.

Italy, how good do they look defensivley? My word, as long they can find the odd goal here and there to give themselves a lead. You’d be convinced they could keep a clean sheet and keep the opposition out – they’re proper old school defenders and together just a solid unit. Well, it does help that Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini all player together at Juventus. What a goal from Eder as well, one of the best individual goal of the tournament so far…

Spain looked good for their 3-0 win as well, could of been a lot won as well considering Morata got the third (and his second) in the 48th minute. The big talking point of the day, unfortuntely, was the flares and fire crackers released by the Croatia fans during their 2-2 draw with the Czech Republic.
