Guernsey FC’s first foray into cup football was a victorious one, with Ross Allen’s neat turn in the box and crisp finish enough to see a slightly weakened Green Lions side past Spelthorne Sports in the first round of the Combined Counties League Division One Cup, sponsored by Lemon Recordings. Although Allen scored the goal it was Ryan Zico-Black who impessed the most, but Guernsey should have been home and dry before Spelthorne started to pile the pressure on in the final 20 minutes.
