Nike uses Photoshop to improve Almunia

Monday, 6 July 2009

Picked up from VillaTalk.com's thread on next season's new kits, here's how to improve a goalkeeper using a simple graphic design package.

Nike's marketing materials for some of their partner clubs has involved Photoshopping new kits over old and making shots look more dramatic. Having seen it done for Villa, I rather like the approach.

But there's something else that's been changed in their shot of Manuel Almunia in Arsenal's new clobber. Spot the difference.

Worst thing is, he still doesn't look like he's getting anywhere near it. ;)

Top find.

Looks like Olly's getting a bit of a kicking over at Who Ate All The Pies for supposedly being surprised that ad men use Photoshop.

Looks like his commenters are taking it far more seriously than he or I.

I think Nike's graphics for the Villa/Arsenal kits (exactly the same style) have been really cool, and nobody has suggested that they're deceitful (apart from Olly's cheeky headline).

As for the ball being moved, it's just a giggle. Some people are so serious!
