Top 5: Players I dislike for no apparent reason

Wednesday, 25 February 2009

In football, as in all walks of like, hatred is not reserved for those who have wronged you. Sometimes, someone's voice, face or smell is enough to give you a healthy distaste for everything they say or do.

Everyone hates Cristiano Ronaldo for being the poster boy for Football's Unpalatable Future, Steven Gerrard for being a whining diver and John Terry for being John Terry. But here are five I despise for no particular reason. Please add yours in the comments.

  1. Kevin Kilbane. I don't know if it's the accent, the gap in the teeth or the fact that he's just a shit footballer living out my dreams, but for whatever unconscious reason I utterly dislike Zinedine Kilbane
  2. Michael Ball. Pointless, boring scouser. What is there not to like?
  3. James Beattie. The former Southampton, Blackburn and Everton striker is easy to hate, but I can't put my finger on why. Perhaps it's his puffed-up nightclub strut
  4. Andy Reid. Just one of those where I don't like his face, I'm afraid. And he's a one-trick pony
  5. Michael Dawson. The Spurs centre back falls foul of my childish nature for no other reason than the fact he plays for Spurs and people wildly over-rate him

I dislike Paul Scholes' face, all his features melt into his pale complexion.

Tim Cahill and his incessant boxing match with the corner flag.

David Nugent for having all the ability of my big toenail (Once it has been clipped).

The list could probably go on...

Nice idea.

Zinedine Skillbane I think you'll find, do the irony some justice.

I'd have to give another shout to Tim Cahill and maybe throw in Scott Carson and Gary Cahill too.

I hate Andy Reid too. Is it just me or does he look really fat.

Well, he is *quite* fat.
