Italian football lost a couple of legends this summer with the retirement of Paolo Maldini, my second favourite non-Villa player of all time, and Pavel Nedved. What better way to pay tribute to departing idols than to have a vote on which one would triumph if we got them to kick the shit out of each other?

Last week, Edwin van der Sar and Peter Crouch battled out a stalemate. Unconfirmed reports suggest Crouchinho downed his foe with a spiderish bicycle kick to the chops after the bell.
