Tim Vickery on The twofootedtackle Football Podcast

It's twofootedtackle's worst-kept secret: this week, South American football oracle Tim Vickery will be joining us in the podcast studio. Right now, there's still room for Tim to change his mind without causing offence so I won't say it's 100% definite, but I have no reason to doubt him.

Needless to say, everybody at twofootedtackle Blog Network is excited as hell about Tim being a guest on the show, not least Gary Andrews and myself who will have the immeasurable honour of spending time behind the mic with one of our favourite journalists (he's top of my list, don't want to speak for Gary though).

I said when we started the show that Tim would be my dream guest, and to have that so close to a reality is testament to the amazing work Gary and our previous guests have put in despite having nothing invested in twofootedtackle.

For the uninitiated, Tim Vickery is a football journalist who is based in Brazil and has been for 15 years. He is, without doubt, the English voice on South American football. That in itself is enough to make me, a follower of Argentine football, a huge fan. But his finest work in my opinion is done for the BBC, where his column is a hit every week.

His cult following in the UK has developed thanks to his excellent ever-present appearances on the World Football Phone-In. In short, the man is at the very top of his profession.

As a result, we were more than happy to re-arrange recording this week. All being well (or even not so well, actually) the show will be available on Friday rather than Wednesday this week. Sorry for the delay, folks. It'll be worth it, I'm sure you'll agree.
