twofootedtackle podcast: Episode 1

Tuesday, 24 March 2009

After much bluster, here it is. Feast your ears upon the first ever twofootedtackle podcast, recorded last night at Porter Novelli for your listening...erm...pleasure.

Gary and I, along with our guest John Stanton, covered all sorts - the Premier League, MLS, AFC Wimbledon, Tooting & Mitcham United, drugs and other bits and pieces.

Please, please bear in mind that it's our first effort so it's a little rough round the edges and I'm, well I'm a bit crap. But I'll grow into it.

As always, your feedback is more than welcome. iTunes version will, hopefully, be available in a few weeks. Episode 2 on its way a week today.

Really good podcast guys, especially when considering that's your first effort!

Thanks Stephen, appreciate your feedback.

Jason, I notice your podcast dropped into my iTunes yesterday so I no longer have to hunt it down. Nice work!

Excellent work, fellas! Thoroughly enjoyed that... and kudos to Gary for dropping in a reference to the 'Compare The Meerkat' ad... ;-)

Haven't listened yet, Chris, I can't spend an hour in front of my computer, so how do I download the thing if it's not available on iTunes yet?

Chris 24 March 2009 22:39

Hi Duncan. I *think* you can download it here.

I'm hoping it'll be iTuned before too long.

Great work lads.

I especially liked the lower league discussion, I've been flirting with the idea of taking on a non-league side as a distant 2nd team to the Mighty Gills (Bromley, Croydon Athletic, Dulwich Hamlet, Fisher Athletic all near...) for a while. Been to Dover's Crabble Stadium a couple of times which is a great little ground. Nice to see a team managed by an ex-Gills legend and with a few ex-Gills doing so well - and set for 2nd promotion in two seasons, upto the Conference South. I certainly think that it would be great if Prem fans would each adopt their local non-league side (especially the armchair ones who rarely make it to games).

Dean McDonald looked pretty decent at times for us, I was somewhat disappointed when he left - he wasn't given the run in the team his performances warranted. Speaking of the MLS he nearly signed for Toronto after he left Caley Thistle I believe.

Makes me said to think there's only 4 episodes left of this left: http://bit.ly/BtKrS

Looking forward to next week!

PS. Warnock can jog on. Just in general.

Thanks James, chuckleworthy comment! Praise always appreciated.
