Prediction League - Results & Predictions 28/08/09

Friday, 28 August 2009

Burnley beating Everton, Aston Villa beating Liverpool, and Hull actually winning. Those were the shocks in this week's games, but the question is did anyone predict Burnley or Aston Villa to cause an upset - or Hull to win? Let's find out.

Results

Arsenal 4-1 Portsmouth
Pompey continue this disastrous start to the season by losing again. No surprises that we all picked Arsenal to win.

Birmingham 0-0 Stoke
Perhaps I was being to ambitious in choosing a Birmingham win, that's why this one was a bore draw giving Chris and Gary 1 point each.

Hull 1-0 Bolton
Hull winning? What? Nobody saw this one coming, even if it was against Bolton.

Manchester City 1-0 Wolves
Citeh continue this impressive start to the season, giving us all 1 point each.

Sunderland 2-1 Blackburn
Steve Bruce and his newly assembled Sunderland side look like a team to watch this season, we didn’t give Blackburn a chance.

Wigan 0-5 Manchester United
What better way to bounce back from losing 1-0 to Burnley, than winning 5-0? Write Manchester United off at your peril. I did, and it got me no points. 1 point each to Chris and Gary.

Burnley 1-0 Everton
The Toffees continue their dreadful start to the season by losing again, this time to promoted Burnley. Great start for them. Chris must have been using his crystal ball to see this result coming. [Damn right mate! - Ed]

Fulham 0-2 Chelsea
Dark horses Chelsea made it 3 wins out of 3, and in turn winning a point each for myself, Gary and Chris.

West Ham 1-2 Tottenham
Spurs look good at the moment, but will they become the Villa of the pack? Start impressive, and then freefall down the table, for now they're riding high. Points to myself, and Gary on this one.

Liverpool 1-3 Aston Villa
Not even the Aston Villa supporter saw this one coming, Liverpool look weak and have already equalled last seasons number of defeats after two games. No points to anyone here.

So, after three weeks, here's how the twofootedtackle Prediction League table looks:

1. Chris - 16 points
2. Gary - 13 points
3. Ian - 12 points

Not looking too bad, even if I am last. Great week for Chris and he remains top of the league picking up 7 of the 10 results correctly this week, while myself and Gary had 5 right each.

On we go to week 4 of the twofootedtackle Prediction League:
