London-on-Ice: fancy a game?

Friday, 18 December 2009

Readers in London will know that's it's absolutely FREEZING outside today - probably not the best conditions for football, particularly with more snow on its way this afternoon (you heard it hear first, weather fans).

I got an email from Castrol Football's press office which disagreed. Extreme football, so they say, has a lot to be said for it. To back it up, they've made a neat video showing two teams, managed by Nigel Winterburn and Martin Keown, playing football on ice and on some...er...really wet sand.

It's PR shizzle but it's pretty cool to watch. The game on ice is probably the best quality game ever played in Basingstoke, and I wouldn't mind a go.

Check out the video for an especially vicious two-footed tackle on Weston-Super-Mare beach. Harsh!
