The Premier League finale is finely poised and should provide a couple of weeks of thrilling entertainment. While the relegation battle is again showing signs that the teams involved won't find another win between them, the title race is on a knife-edge. Paul Scholes powered in the winning header in the Manchester derby to give United a stoppage time boost ahead of Chelsea's evening kick-off against Tottenham Hotspur.

If Tottenham's win billowed air over the embers of the title race, it planted dynamite under the race for fourth. City's derby heartbreak went some way to making Harry Redknapp's side favourites for a spot in Champions League qualifying, and this week's podcast guest is Spurs supporter Theo Delaney, a man on a high after seeing his side end Arsenal's stuttering title hopes and put Chelsea to the sword four days later.

Much to my surprise and delight, Aston Villa banked six points on the road against Portsmouth and Hull City and are right back in the thick of the quest for the Champions League. This weekend sees Spurs travel to Old Trafford, Manchester City visit Arsenal and Villa host bitter rivals Birmingham City. There are still games between the three to be played.

We discuss the various battles in the Premier League and run down the leagues to talk about all the ups and downs in the last seven days as promotion and relegation matters start to settle. In League Two, Rochdale are promoted along with Notts County, who have been accused of succeeding by breaching the division's turnover-related salary cap. We explain how County got around that particular obstacle in this week's show.

Tom Hall from Scottish Football Blog joins us on the line to tell us why the Scottish Premier League split doesn't work - and why nothing can be done about it. There's all the usual Major League Soccer action as Edson Buddle continues to guide LA Galaxy to excellent results, and a round-up of the goals, refereeing decisions and drama of this week's Champions League semi-final first legs. It's advantage Inter Milan and Bayern Munich in Mission Bernabeu.
