Prediction League: Week 19 - Round-Up

All Premier League ties bar on went ahead this weekend. It was a weekend of goals, draws, red cards and of course bad predicting by us. Bearing that in mind, let's see how we fared:

Chelsea 7-2 Sunderland
An emphatic win from, dare I say, the champions in waiting; Chelsea were unlucky not to win by another couple of goals. Sunderland were very poor. No surprises here, we all went for a home win.

Everton 2-0 Man City
Somewhat of a shock win from Everton as Citeh fell to their first defeat under Italian Roberto Mancini. What is it with Everton, they seem to always start slow and then glide up the table? No points for us in this game though.

Man United 3-0 Burnley
A lacklustre victory from the Red Devils, but as they say, a win is a win. Burnley were unlucky they held their own but as soon as the first goal went in they fell away; points for all of us.

Pompey P-P Birmingham
Postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, no points here for obvious reasons, dare I say Birmingham would have won like we all predicted.

Stoke 1-1 Liverpool
Another late goal inflicts pain on Liverpool supporters as they continue their abysmal run, they probably deserved to win, but such is life. Chris gets the points here.

Tottenham 0-0 Hull
Some fantastic goalkeeping from Hull’s Boaz Myhill meant the Tigers left White Hart Lane with a deserved point, not a result we saw coming though.

Wolves 0-2 Wigan
Wigan pulled off a good win over Wolves and gained an important three points, James McCarthy looks to be their secret weapon now that he is starting for them. Sadly, no points for us here either.

Aston Villa 0-0 West Ham
Let’s just say we all predicted a home win, so no points for anyone. One important question is that why do all the teams looking to finish fourth seem to draw or lose on the same day?

Bolton 0-2 Arsenal
Bolton had been the Gunners bogey team over the past couple of years but not in this game, another three points for Arsenal as they keep in check with the leaders. Points go to Chris and me here.

Blackburn 2-0 Fulham
Something of a shock win from Blackburn, against probably one of the teams in the league that are hard to beat at times. A much needed win for Rovers though, sadly we didn’t gain any points.

No Prediction League this weekend as the FA Cup 4th Round is taking place, so we will be taking a week's break. I think we need it.
