TFT Podcast shortlisted for Soccerlens Award

Soccerlens announced the nominees for its 2009 Soccerlens Awards today and Gary Andrews and myself are surprised and delighted to see that the twofootedtackle Podcast has been listed among the nominees for Best Football Podcast of 2009.

Our nomination is genuinely unexpected and we're truly honoured for our humble little podcast to appear in such illustrious and well-established company. The list of nominees is mighty impressive and we are the youngest and smallest of the five podcasts by some distance. At less than a year into the project, to be nominated for this award is an amazing achievement and our gratitude to those of you who nominated the show is difficult to express.

In terms of the other nominees, I have a huge amount of respect for the guys at EPL Talk and am chuffed to bits to be listed alongside their show and World Football Daily.

But my two favourite UK podcasts, The Football Ramble and Football Weekly, are on the list too and I'm genuinely proud to see our show on the same list as them. Congratulations to the Ramblers (Marcus, Lukey, Pete and JamesOrJim) and to Jimbo, Barry, Sean and the Guardian gang on their nominations. They couldn't be more deserving.

I know I'm supposed to go on the campaign trail between now and the closure of voting on 31st January, but in all honesty I feel like we've won the ruddy award already. I'll be giving the vote the occasional mention on Twitter and Facebook but I won't be going over the top.
